I am a week late in writing this but better late than never. I want to say how moved I was by your expression of appreciation given me during the Crabtree Cafe meeting last week. I am an emotional guy and my struggle to come up with words to express what I was feeling was maybe the greatest testimony of all.
When I first met with Barbara Best about this time last year I told her I would be willing to get you through the Advent season and then we will see if there is a mutual desire to continue on. And here we are…..and for me it has been a divine gift and an opportunity to live out my highest calling.
CVBC is a special assembly of people who are committed to continuing its ministry to those who make it up. Its many ministries—Welcome House, Food Pantry, Children and Youth Ministry, Filipino Congregation as well as other groups…..and so much more provide every reason for its continued role in God’s Kingdom work. And for me, to have a church family, to meet every week on Wednesday and Sunday morning, keeps my weekly devotional and spiritual life alive and growing.
So thanks, trying to find something nice to say about me for every letter of the alphabet must have been the ultimate challenge, but you did it, and I will treasure those words especially on those days when I wonder if I am doing and being enough. So thank you, in this season of Thanksgiving, you are among my richest blessings.
Brave Journey, Bill
