Sharing and Caring

There is something special about Wednesday night at CVBC.  I look upon it as a time of refreshing when God’s people can gather together, fellowship with one another, spend time in prayer, study God’s Word and get their spiritual battery recharged. I rejoice that on any given Wednesday night half of our church family comes to the House of God with joy and expectation for spiritual nourishment.

It is encouraging to see the joy, the laughter, the sharing and caring, and the genuine interest in praying for those on our prayer list and the opportunity to make the church family aware of special needs and concerns of fellow members. Prayer is one of the most significant ministries we can offer one another.  Whose spirit is not lifted by knowing that someone cares enough to pray for them? The words of James 5:16 come to mind, “…pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Recipients of our prayer cards often tell us how much they appreciate the cards and prayers.

I am also encouraged by the genuine interest in Bible Study.  I am reminded of Psalm 42:1 “As a deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” And Psalm 119:105, “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” If the Wednesday night Prayer and Bible Study is not on your weekly schedule, we would love to have you join us.  We are winding up our study of the Letters to the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation with a focus on The Church in Laodicea known as “The luke-warm church”. Join us on Wednesday night at 6:30pm

In His Love,

Charles
