This week offers a unique opportunity for both celebration and prayer. This week four of our youth are attending Passport Camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This is a week long camp sponsored by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Last year Kimora of our church attended and came back to make her public profession of faith. It is a life changing opportunity and we can be in prayer that these four youth will be transformed as a result
At the same time, the children of our church will be attending music camp all week in Garner. This gives them an opportunity to be around children from other churches and learn music that teaches them more about Jesus.
There is a saying, “Like parent, like child.” We owe a huge debt of gratitude to a couple of ladies whose last name is Walker. “Mom” Walker, a.k.a. Cheryl has led our children’s music program for years, not to mention being the accompanist for our Sunday morning worship. Her daughter, Ashley, leads our youth ministry and has done a superb work in that ministry.
So be thankful for the opportunities this week provides and be in prayer for our youth and children.
Brave Journey,
Bill
