In Italian it’s ‘Grazie”. In French it’s “Merci Beaucoup”. In Spanish it’s “Gracias”. In Chinese it’s “do jeh, daw-dyeh, In German it’s “Danke sehr”. In Portuguese it’s “Obrigado”. In English it’s THANK YOU! But in any language, words are inadequate to express the appreciation that Gloria and I have in our hearts for your many acts of kindness, cards, personal words, telephone calls, gifts and thoughts during this month of Pastor Appreciation. We are humbled by your kindness and grateful to serve the Lord with such a loving church family.
Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the fall-winter Holiday Season. It is a busy time with many demands upon us. I encourage you to pace yourself, prioritize your activities and give top priority to the worship experiences that will enrich your life and keep you focused on the “Reason for the Season”.
We have special guest musicians planned for worship Dec. 8th, 15th & 22nd in our sanctuary. One of the Highlights of December will be the Christmas Cantata featuring the combined Choirs of Tabernacle Baptist Church and CVBC on Sunday night, December 15, at 7:00pm. Tabernacle will host this worship experience at 8304 Leesville Rd., Raleigh. You will not want to miss this service.
Next Sunday, December 1, marks the beginning of Advent as we celebrate the coming of Jesus into the world to save us from our sins. Each Sunday we will light a candle symbolizing Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. On Christmas Eve, we will light the Christ Candle representing Jesus, the “Light of the World”. Our candle light Christmas Eve Service is a very special worship experience. From the Christ Candle, we light the candle of each person who joins us for worship. We sing “Silent Night, Holy Night” and move from the sanctuary to the outdoors symbolizing God’s commission to every Christian that “You are the light of the world…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-15).
Let me also urge you to take advantage of this Holiday Season to invite family, friends, neighbors and even strangers to join us at Crabtree Valley Baptist Church in worship, praise and adoration of Jesus Christ our Lord.
