A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR

“For God so loved the world that he GAVE his only Son……” and so the heart of the gospel reminds us that love always results in giving. I’ve always believed the oft repeated quote—“The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the level of your giving.” Many of you are living that out in this season of gifts as you go out of your way (and beyond your budget) to find just that right gift to give to someone that you want to be sure knows how special they are to you.

I say all that because we also find ourselves at the end of the calendar year as a church. Now, today, don’t wait another moment—-prayerfully consider what you want your giving to support the ministries of CVBC to be. Consider the gifts this church means in your life and realize the impact its ministries make. All that should inspire generosity in abundance that derives first from a heart of gratitude and proceeds to a trust that God will provide and multiply many times over His gifts to you.

IT is critical that we end the year on a strong financial foundation as we look to the new year. For your financial gifts to be designated as a 2023 gift you need to make sure it is donated by this Sunday, December 24. You can do that by placing it in the offering plate Sunday or by mailing it postmarked by this Saturday, December 23. The ministries of CVBC are worthy of your sacrificial level of giving and the biblical benchmark has always been the “tithe” or 10% of one’s income. If you can’t reach those heights, then start where you can and be sure your gift brings joy and not only duty or obligation.

I wish for all of you new and fresh visitations from above these remaining days before Christmas. Thank you so much for the gift you have given me by inviting me to be a part of your special fellowship. His name is “Emmanuel” which means “God is with us.” He surely is. Thanks be to God for the gift we need most of all—a Savior who is Christ the Lord.

Brave Journey,
Bill
