My longtime favorite writer, Frederick Buechner, once wrote, “Life is not just a journey through time. It is a sacred journey.” The journey of my life has been filled with many special celebrations and milestones along the way.
In July, Kathy and I celebrated 40 years of marriage. Just a few weeks after that I celebrated turning 70 years of age. And this week I have one more milestone to celebrate—MY TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY AS YOUR “INTERIM” PASTOR!!!!!
I remember so well meeting with Barbara Best and telling her that I would help out through the Advent season and we could see where things would go after that. I was not expecting two years and you probably weren’t either. But it has been a blessing for me and I hope I have not disappointed too much as well.
CVBC continues to live out its reason for existing and I continue to look forward to God’s future story. Know that you matter, that the future of the church is as great as the promises of God and as large as your willingness to live it out.
Thanks so much for this special anniversary. It is the season of gifts and I especially celebrate this unique gift given to me.
