Christ is Risen. He is Risen Indeed!
There are no fuller words, no needed words, no truer words in all the words our world is shouting these days than these.
We will gather Easter morning and proclaim the truth at the center of the universe and at the intersections of our world today. Here is the challenge and the bold invitation that Easter calls forth—DON’T LIVE IN A SMALLER WORLD THAN THE WORLD GOD HAS MADE POSSIBLE! As I often say—WE ARE EASTER PEOPLE!
That is, we live by a greater truth and by a different news than all the world would have us be overcome by. This year it seems Easter has come just in time. The news of the world shouts out uncertainty, tariffs, economic challenges, wars and broken promises. But Easter shouts out the good news that hope, not despair, light, not darkness and ultimately life, not death, have the last word.
Give God whatever seems lost, and hopeless, and tugging at your heart and let Easter do its work on you. YOU ARE EASTER PEOPLE, so as the song proclaims—“Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.” We have a song, we have a message, we have a truth, and best of all we have a risen Savior that the darkest forces of our world could not overcome.
So dance and sing and celebrate—-this is your victory that overcomes the world. And I can’t wait to get up Easter morning and every morning and know that Easter is my story and yours as well.
