A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

Like many of you I was fascinated by the journey beyond the moon of the spaceship Artemis.

So many thoughts came to mind.  First, I am amazed that there are people far smarter than me who can assemble such an incredible feat of engineering and technology.

To have every detail mapped out literally to the second and see it come together is almost beyond my comprehension.  What, I wonder, would it look like if we gave the same attention and priority to finding ways to bring peace in our world. To see four astronauts sharing in a common goal and to witness the camaraderie that resulted was a beautiful picture of what can be at our best.

But I also thought about that time when they were on the far side of the moon and for a while completely cut off from all communication?  Imagine if that had been permanent.  Being in communication is critical and so it is with our communication with God.

Daily prayer keeps us aligned with the Master Control Center—God.  Through His word and spirit He keeps us on course and reassures us when the unknown feels overwhelming.  And just as rockets need boosters to propel forward so we need each other and the power of the Holy Spirit.

What a great celebration for NASA and all involved.  And what a reminder of what can be when we are guided by God.

Brave Journey, Bill
