never stop praying 1 thessalonians 5:17 underneath a clock

Are you continuing in prayer?  With all that is going on in our world today it is easy to give in to discouragement, fear, anger and worry.  The world in which Paul lived was no more encouraging than the world we live in today.  Yet, Paul took a positive approach to life.  In 1 Thessalonians 5:16  He said, “Be joyful always, pray continually (Pray without ceasing KJV), give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

In January, I challenged you to continue in prayer and to make this focus your theme for the year.  We are now into the fourth month of the year.  Can you believe it?  Again, I urge you – continue in prayer.

Pray that God will bring new members into our congregation.

Pray for each other

Pray for world leaders and for peace

Pray for those in war zones

Pray for the children of the world caught in the turmoil of war

Pray for families who have lost loved one is acts of violence

Pray for the salvation of those who do not know Christ

Gordon MacDonald a highly respected preacher/author writes, Prayer is not demanding of God what we want….Prayer is not about changing God’s mind. Prayer is not about getting God to answer according to our requests.  Prayer is aligning ourselves up with God’s purposes. It is about changing ourselves.

Charles Spurgeon said, “if you are a child of God, then you will seek your Father’s face and live in your Father’s love.  Continue in prayer!

In His Love,

Charles
