Are you happy? Why…or why not? And is it something that continues to be a challenge for you?
The best statistics reveal that happiness is on the decline in our country. The United States ranks 24th in the latest World Happiness Report. Surely there are many reasons from political concerns, to financial challenges, to social media to personal relations. Studies show the top reasons for happiness are close relationships, financial stability and sense of trust.
I have a higher and better way and I am going to be sharing this in a new sermon series beginning this Sunday entitled “Beyond Happy”. The series is based on the wonderful letter from the Apostle Paul to the Philippians. Spoiler alert—the Christian life promises something beyond happy, which is a good thing because happiness is based on that which can’t be trusted in all things.
