A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

The week after..  Easter was such a glorious day in every way, from an early sunrise service to the sound of a trumpet and “Christ is risen” proclaimed in worship.   What a day!

But now, maybe it seems all is back to normal.  And so I wonder, is anything different with you because of Easter.  Not just this past Sunday but that first Easter morning.   My friend Nido Qubein says it so well–we are not witnesses to the resurrection, we are BEARERS of it.   We live it, we are transformed by it, it informs all of life and it reminds us of this—-remember what the Easter story; says about the risen Christ?  “He is going before you into Galilee.”  I claim that verse every time I enter a hospital room, a graveside, a home, really anywhere.  I am not alone, Christ is alive, and because He is alive I am never left to myself.

The stone was removed and God is in the stone moving business.  Maybe these post-Easter days find you still struggling with some stone in your life that you can’t seem to overcome.  Friends, if resurrection is true, than so is ours.  If the stone has been rolled away, then so can ours.   Don’t let Easter not matter.  Allow it to be what turns all your sunsets into sunrises.  As we sang Sunday—“you ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart.”  Wouldn’t it be the greatest tragedy of all to die before our heart even stops beating.  Christ is alive and so can we be as well.

Easter, at least on the calendar, is over.  But may it be the story that never ends for you and me.  Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!  How about you?

Brave Journey, Bill
