A woman who just happened to be a Sunday School teacher had an affair which rocked the church and community. When confronted by church leaders and told that she could no longer teach her Sunday School Class, she made the statement, “What I do with my body has nothing to do with my spiritual life”. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “May your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Galatians 5:16-17 Paul said, “…Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.”
What we believe has a direct connection to what we do. And the Bible is clear, “So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God” (Romans 14:12). We are accountable for what we believe and we are accountable for what we do.
God will judge our beliefs, our attitudes, our actions. He will judge how we treat others. Our current Administration is calling human beings insects and animals and treating little children as criminals and putting them in cages. Due process of all who seek asylum in our country is written into our constitution but is now under attack as are many of the values that have made this nation great.
What is happening to innocent children for political reasons is inhumane, immoral, evil, wrong, unchristian and unconscionable and in contrast to all that the United States of America stands for. This is not and should not be a political issue. It is a humane issue that attacks our dignity, integrity and respect for human life. I have written our Senators and Congressman expressing my views and asking them to do everything in their power to stop this damaging and needless abuse and reunite these children with their parents. I urge you to do the same because what we do is directly connected to what we believe. The separation of children from their parents is nothing less than Government Kidnapping and must be stopped. We will give an account to God for our inhumanity to our fellowman and especially to children.
