“He is risen and going before you into Galilee.”(Matthew 28:7) These are post-Easter words, which mean they are words for all of us who live on this side of Easter.
There are two parts that we need to apply to our current lives. First—“He is risen.” Our Savior is not one confined to history books as some former figure that we can be thankful for, but really makes no difference in our present situation. No, He is risen, which means he is alive and very much available and caring and wanting to share in your life today.
But also—“He is going before you into Galilee.” I have played back these words a thousand and one times in so many settings I have walked into. Before going into a hospital room, visiting someone in their home, a funeral home, a visit in my office. These words encourage me and support me that there is no room I can enter that Jesus has not already gone before me to join up with me so that whatever I am about to face I know that I am not facing it alone.
Easter is now behind us on the calendar but it makes all the difference that we put it before us. What would your week this week look like if you boldly believed that every room you enter Jesus is with you? That is the promise of Easter and the reality of today.
Thanks be to God.
Brave Journey, Bill
