A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

I continue to benefit so much from our times together on Wednesday evenings as we go through the book “Practicing the Way” by John Mark Comer. We are half way through and now is the perfect time to join others in learning how to live THE  WAY of Jesus.

A quote from this week’s reading is by Saint Teresa of Avila:Christ has no body on earth but yours.  Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassionately on this world.  Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands with which he blesses all the world.  Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”

Imagine that!!!   We are the presence of Christ in every room we enter, in every relationship we share, in every moment we experience.  Are people reminded of Christ, put in touch with something divine, something radically different, something this world desperately needs when they see you?

That is the calling of each of us and that is the calling of the church.  As Clarence Jordan put it, we are to be a “demonstration plot” for the Kingdom of God.  I love all the ways Crabtree Valley lives that out.

Brave Journey, Bill
