A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

As I write this it is the last day of summer and another season has come and gone. Life is made up of seasons–some joyful and full of light, others heavy and seemingly endless.  But Scripture tells us that every season has a purpose.

I remember my spiritual director once asking me , “If a chapter of your life as it is now would be titled, what would it be?”   An adventure, a comedy, a tragedy, a joy….what would it be for you?

As the sun rotates through the seasons, our lives move through times that invite change that can provide growth, new wisdom, and needed maturity.  Most of all, it seems to me, it can provide that many more experiences that you can lean on for future strength, wisdom and growth.

There is another season that may be the most difficult.  Maybe this season for you is a season of waiting, where prayers feel unanswered, where faith and trust are everything just to make it to the next day.  I invite you to trust that God is not late, “He’s not early, His timing will one day prove to be gracious.  So goodbye summer, hello autumn, and thank you God for carrying me through and going before.

Brave Journey, Bill
