Worship service featuring the sermon “Doing the Impossible – Raising the Dead” given by Guest Preacher Dr. Bill Duke; including scriptures from Ezekiel 37:1-14; and music performed by music director Risa Poniros and pianist Cheryl Walker.
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Bill Duke as our guest preacher. Dr. Duke was born and raised in Florida and earned a BA in Religion from Florida Southern College and Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pursued further studies from Medical College of Virginia, Southeastern Baptist Seminary and received his doctorate of Ministry from Union Theological Seminary-PSCE. Dr. Duke has served as the pastor of several churches in NC and Virginia and most recently In Palm Coast, Florida. Additionally, he taught theology at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Kediri, Indonesia as a professor and pastored a church in Jakarta, Indonesia. While serving as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Bangkok, Thailand, he became friends with Marc and Kim Wyatt, who work with our church to serve refugees in the Welcome House. He and his wife, Carol have been married since 1983 and currently reside in Durham near their 2 adult sons.
